Facilities
Examination Rooms
We have 2 designated examination rooms enabling us to examine and treat you horse in a clean and safe environment. Both rooms have specialist flooring, heating and ventilation.
Stocks
We have two sets of safe and secure stocks based at the clinic. We use these regularly to perform procedures such as gastroscopy, dental examinations, reproductive examinations, standing surgeries, sacroiliac joint medications, endoscopy and thoracic and abdominal ultrasonography.
Surgical Theatre
We undertake a wide range of surgical procedures from rig castrations to arthroscopic joint operations both under standing sedation and general anaesthesia. We have access to a number of specialist consultant surgeons who regularly attend the clinic as visiting surgeons.
In-house Laboratory
The practice have an in-house laboratory where we can perform full blood profiles, worm egg counts, examination of swabs and smears and analysis of joint fluid and peritoneal fluid. We also have access to a next day laboratory service for samples that we cannot run in-house. Our nurses manage our in-house laboratory and results and often provided on the same day.
Weigh Bridge
We have a weigh bridge at the practice which is essential for accurately measuring your horses weight. We use this for all hospitalised horses undergo surgical procedures to ensure the correct dosages of drugs.
JMB measuring pad
We have a JMB measuring pad situated in one of our treatment rooms away from distractions so your horse can feel relaxed.
Stabling
We have 4 secure and well ventilated stables within our indoor barn enabling us to stable your horses for day procedures and also overnight if necessary. Our dedicated team of nurses look after your horse with support from our team of vets.
Hard trot up and lunge area
Cinder Hill have a specially built level hard trot up and lunge surface to aid us when performing lameness examinations and pre purchase examinations.
Sand School
Our purpose built sand school allows us to assess your horses gait both ridden and lunged during a poor performance or lameness investigation. We can also asses your horses wind whilst undergoing exercise.
Parking
The clinic has a large area for parking, loading and turning with a loading ramp available if needed.
